5 Healthy Habits For The New Year
Give Up Soft Drinks:
Soft drinks are available at nearly every restaurant or vending machine in the country. The ease of access makes it so easy to guzzle down many of these soft drinks daily. However, soft drinks are just empty calories with loads of sugar. Instead of drinking these sugar-filled drinks, substitute with a healthy nutritious drink such as tea, fresh squeezed juice, black coffee, or smoothies. A can of Coke contains 39 grams of total sugar, which is almost 10 teaspoons of sugar!
Eat More Fruits and Vegetables:
Fruit and vegetables carry the majority of the daily nutrients that your body needs to work properly. Get your daily dose of fruit and vegetables by incorporating it every day to get all the nutrients that you need. Cook up some grilled asparagus, blend a green smoothie or making some stuffed peppers. Having enough nutrients in your body will give the energy you need to power through the day.
Substitute Junk Food for Healthy Snacks:
Quick snacks such as chips and candy are easy to grab when you are on the run and hunger strikes. Instead of grabbing a high calorie snack, whip up a healthy snack or pack along some nuts or fruit. Most of the same convenience stores that carry high calorie snacks, will also carry nuts, salads, or fruit cups.
Finding time to exercise can be hard, but doing just 30 minutes of exercise a day can trim your waistline and keep you in good health. It does not have to be a very intensive exercise. Just 30 minutes of walking can help to keep you in shape! If you find it difficult to get the motivation to do exercise, find something fun that you enjoy such as dancing or playing a video game that gets you active. Get moving in the new year to start dropping some weight and feeling better.
Cut some sugar out of your diet to get rid of those extra pounds. Sugar gives you a crash and can really damage your pancreas. Get rid of refined sugar from your diet and see how much better you feel. Use natural healthy sweeteners like honey, syrup, or stevia instead.
