Lady's Life Hacks

Lady In Home

We fork out money on many different products to help us clean our home, perform tasks, and use in our daily life. Many people don’t know that there are much cheaper alternatives to these products that are just as effective and can leave you with more cash in your pocket. Here are just a few easy life hacks that can help you around the house.

  1. Use Rubbing Alcohol and Newspaper to Clean Windows:

Instead of spending money on chemical products specifically made for windows, you can just grab a cheap bottle of rubbing alcohol and an old newspaper to leave your windows sparkling.

  1. Brighten up your Whites:

White laundry can start to look less brilliant overtime, but with some lemon juice and boiling water you can easily get your white linens looking brand new again. Just leave the whites in the boiling water for 15 minutes and then dry normally. Great for dress shirts, dresses, and sheets.

  1. Reclaim Moldy Shoes:

Instead of tossing out those shoes, you can fix them with a little rubbing alcohol. Wipe the alcohol on both the inside and outside of the shoe and then put it in a cool place to dry. The alcohol will kill the spores.

  1. Instant Band-Aid:

This is an important tip to remember for anyone prone to bleeding or who is on blood thinners. If you happen to injure yourself and get cut, there is a helpful aid inside of your fridge that will quickly help you to stop bleeding. Egg whites are known to help stop bleeding quickly making it very important to have on hand for cuts until you can get proper medical attention.

  1. Put Oil on Bathroom suction cups to avoid slipping:

If you are finding that the suction cups in your bathroom have less suction than you would like try rubbing some oil on the edges and then sticking it onto the wall. This should allow the suction cups to get a better grip and last longer.

  1. Whiten Teeth from Home:

You can spend money on expensive whitening strips or you can whiten your teeth with some common household products. Get some hydrogen peroxide and some baking soda and mix it together into a paste. Then allow to sit on your teeth for 5 minutes and rinse, be sure not to swallow as hydrogen peroxide is not meant to be ingested.

  1. Remove Scuff marks off of your Shoes:

You can get scuff marks off of your shoes with some simple nail polish remover. Take a washcloth and soak some of the cloth with the nail polish remover. Rub at the scuffed up areas thoroughly and you will see that your shoes look practically new.
