DIY the rainbow roses for a special occasion and the one you love.
What You Need:
- White, Cream or Ivory Roses
- Food Coloring
- Several Container ( the best one will be narrow and sturdy. Avoiding the wide lip ones as the split section of stem will need to stretch into each container. The wider lip ones might be harder to stretch the stems into the containers )
- Sharp Scissors/Knife
How to:
- Cut the leaves half way on the stem
- Multi-Color: Use a sharp knife to cut the rose stem into half or thirds depending how many colors you want
- Single Color: cut the end of the stem with an angle to let the stem has enough surface to soak the colored water
- Adding colors to different cups with water ( the more color you use the brighter the colors will be in the resulting rainbow rose )
- Carefully place each split stem section into a different container of colored water. Make sure that the cut ends are fully immersed
- Let the roses sit for at least 24 hours to have the petals tinted. It may take few days before the colors become notably vibrant
